Siena and Wine Tastings in Chianti Classico
Only in Tuscany is it possible to combine a visit to one of the most famous art cities of the world with a pleasurable escape to the Chianti Classico wine country in a single day.
You will be picked up early in the morning from your lodgings and will be driven directly to Siena, the city of the Palio, with its neighborhoods or “contrade,” its medieval aura, and its iconic shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, the heart of the city. Arriving in one of our NCC licensed vans means that you will be able to begin your visit in the center of the city, with only a short walk to all the main monuments: Piazza del Campo, the Duomo cathedral, and Palazzo Pubblico, today known as the municipal hall, with its spectacular Torre del Mangia. There’s also the Basilica of San Domenico, which contains the sacred reliquaries of Santa Caterina. And let’s not forget the center of town, with its lively streets, historic cafés, and elegant boutiques. After enjoying a good meal, we will go beyond the city walls and admire the hills, villas, cypress trees, olive orchards, and the vineyards that are all part of the classic, breathtaking views of the countryside surrounding Siena. Of course we will also accompany you to a winery, where the owner will take us on a private tour and let us taste his wines, paired with cheeses and traditional specialties.
